Is The Linus Connection the same as Project Linus?
- The Linus Connection is a small non-profit organization based out of central Texas in the Austin area. We have a similar mission as Project Linus, but we are not affiliated with a national organization and serve only Austin-area Texas locations.
- We have a document dedicated to blanket specifications that will answer all your questions about sizes, fabrics, yarn, etc.
- The Linus Connection collects blankets the third Saturday of each month at St. Phillips Methodist Church, 16321 Great Oaks Drive, Round Rock between 9 and 11 a.m.
- If you can't make it to the monthly meeting, you can drop off at one of our Drop-Off locations.
- The non-commercial locations have plastic containers out to collect your blankets. Please call or email for directions!
Should I put my name on my blanket/quilt/afghan/quilt top?
- Yes! Your name should be on all donations, preferably on a Linus Tag (see photo below).
Where are the blankets donated?
- Blankets are donated to abused, abandoned, ill and at-risk children in the central Texas area who need the comfort and security of their own blanket. The majority of the blankets are given to children aged seven to twelve years, but we also donate blankets to premature babies through teenagers.
- If you know of an organization that would welcome blankets, please let us know and we will do what we can – depending on the availability of blankets at that time.
Do you ever meet?
- We meet as a group on the third Saturday of each month, from 9am to noon at St. Philip's Methodist Church in Rock Round (get directions).
What other donations can you use?
- Blanket supplies are always appreciated:
- Cotton fabric
- low-loft batting (preferably cotton)
- acrylic yarn
Cash donations are greatly appreciated. Checks should be made out to The Linus Connection and mailed to:
