Dear Volunteers,
Osie and her helpers have worked very hard to organize one of everyone's favorite activities for our 16th Annual Challenge Packet Pickup! We will also be accepting blanket donations.
This is obviously a precarious time and we will be taking every safety precaution to protect our volunteers to the best of our ability.
This is obviously a precarious time and we will be taking every safety precaution to protect our volunteers to the best of our ability.
Please remember, if you are or have been sick, PLEASE STAY HOME and take care of yourself. It's okay to hold on to your donations until later and we can get a Challenge packet to you another way. There's more on that below. Safety first!
If you can't make it to drop off/pick-up, blanket donations are still being accepted at the locations previously mentioned. You can find all of that information here.
To help make Saturday go as smoothly as possible, please read the information below thoroughly. If you have questions about the Challenge, please contact Osie: osie.leb@gmail.com. Board Members are listed below.
Remember, we are asking that you please continue to bag and label your donation. This makes it easier for us to safely log in your quilts, blankets, and quilt tops. Your printable donation form is here.
The Linus Connection Challenge 2020 Drive Thru
When: Saturday, July 18, 2020, from 9 am to 10 am.
Where: St Philip's Church parking lot
Follow signs, stay in your cars, wear masks!
2020 Fabric challenge – you will select a very generous bag of batik fabrics donated by Evelyn McRae. Each bag has a color variety of batik fabrics. You may add additional fabric (see Challenge rules).
Please Note: Change in the fabric challenge rules this year. You can only turn in 2 quilts for the fabric challenge from each bag of fabric. The amount of fabric is very generous this year. Any additional quilts made from the batiks can be shown as part of Show and Tell.
2020 Yarn challenge – you will select a bag that contains 3 skeins of yarn. In some of the bags, the skeins may be the same while other bags may have matching colors of yarn. You may add additional yarn to your challenge (see challenge rules posted on the Linus website).
How: Please follow all the rules listed below, as we want everyone to stay as safe as possible. If your friend cannot make the date of the drive-thru, please offer to pick up a challenge bag for them.
If you cannot make this date, please contact Osie at osie.leb@gmail.com or Marge at mlentricchia@austin.rr.com to schedule a time to pick up a Challenge packet.
We want everyone to be safe and stay well and to keep making blankets. If you have any questions, please contact me at osie.leb@gmail.com.
Stay Safe!

Preparing your donation:
Please place donations in a plastic garbage bag or similar and include your full name and what you're donating so we can log it in (just like the sign-in sheet at monthly meetings). For your convenience, we have created a printable donation form. You don't have to use the form, but we do need the information listed for an accurate blanket count and donations must say "for The Linus Connection" so they will not be misdirected. If you would like a receipt emailed to you, please be sure to include your email address.
- Please make sure your individual quilts and blankets are labeled and have a poem with your first name. If you are out of labels, please contact Anne. She will mail some to you.
- Weighted blanket tops needed! We're especially in need of sizes 9x11, 10x12, 12x14. More information.
- We are especially in need of middle and teen quilts & blankets for regular deliveries. More information.
- Blankets will be distributed to our usual recipient facilities as needed. Delivery volunteers will be contacted personally if you have a delivery.
IKEA BAGS
If you have any of the Linus IKEA bags that we use to distribute blankets, please return them when you make your next donation. Our bags say either "Please return to" or "Property of The Linus Connection" and have a vinyl pocket for an index card on one side. These can be dropped off on Saturday or left at any of the donation drop-off locations.
