On October 21, 2017, The Linus Connection celebrated our 18th Birthday and our 13th Annual Challenge!

Our Birthday meeting included very special guests from Threads of Love and Honey Bee Quilt Store, our annual Blanket Challenge, lots of wonderful treats brought by our volunteers, a fun Silent Auction, lots of great door prizes, a fun guessing game, and much more!
♥ Quilts for Harvey Update ♥
Quilts for Harvey have been received from 36 states, Canada, & Singapore.
746 quilts & blankets were donated from outside of Austin in 118 boxes and packages.
We've sent 94 thank you cards (and counting!).
522 quilts & blankets were made and donated by local volunteers.
As of October 20, 2017, we had a grand total of 1268 quilts & blankets received via The Linus Connection and donated to children affected by Hurricane Harvey!
The Austin Disaster Relief Network can no longer guarantee that quilts donated will go to children affected by Hurricane Harvey. Quilts received after November 2017 will be distributed to children in crisis in Central Texas. We'd like to give a HUGE thank you to everyone who has shared their time and talent to help the kiddos in need in areas affected by Hurricane Harvey in Texas. ♥

The 2017 Silent Auction raised $1350, almost doubling last year's donations! Thank you to everyone that donated items and BIG thanks to our bidders for supporting The Linus Connection.

Volunteers and visitors alike had a chance to win a Timeless Treasures Tonga Treat prize by guessing how many M&Ms!

Visitors and volunteers alike had a chance to vote on their favorite quilts and favorite yarn blankets for 2017.
For the challenge, Quilters received a variety of batik fabrics. Knitters & Crocheters received a variety of 3 skeins of the same color yarn. We also added a new quilt category: Applique!
