We'd like to thank Saturday's very special guest, Stephanie Hackney, who visited us from Hobbs Bonded Fibers. She shared great information about Hobbs and some lucky Linus volunteers won packages of Heirloom Cotton Batting!
The Linus Connection participates in the Hobbs Charitable Batting program. Because of their generosity, we're able to purchase batting for our charity quilts at a discounted rate, making it easier for our volunteers to create quality quilts for children in crisis in Central Texas.
We need your HOBBS UPC codes!
To qualify for “Charitable Batting” from Hobbs Bonded Fibers, we are required to provide UPC labels from Hobbs packaged batting (see the photo above).
If you are a quilter or know any quilters, please save your Hobbs UPC labels and either bring them to the monthly meeting or mail them to us at The Linus Connection, P.O. Box 29491, Austin, Texas 78755.
We need 5 UPC labels for each roll of charity batting we purchase and every label counts! Hobbs is based out of Waco, so when you support Hobbs, you help The Linus Connection and also support a Texas company!

We received two generous donations on Saturday. $100 from Sandra Drew and $250 from Kathy Sellstrom. Thank you to everyone who has supported The Linus Connection during 2016.

We had a full house on Saturday!

Here's an easy way to remember what blanket sizes work best for The Linus Connection!
Complete blanket requirements are here. Questions? Just ask!

Please remember: Paper Tags should include your first name at the top.
ALL blankets should include a paper tag and a sew on label (see diagram above).

Our volunteers make hundreds of blankets each month to meet the need of children in crisis in Central Texas. To do this, many supplies are needed. We are constantly in need of washable 100% acrylic yarn. Leftover balls of yarn to full skeins are gratefully accepted.
Have yarn? Bring it to the next Linus meeting or leave it at one of our Drop-Off locations clearly marked for The Linus Connection.

We continue to have requests for weighted blankets, and are in special need of the larger sized quilt tops.
This is a special project that is unlike our usual requests. These blankets take more time and special supplies. If you'd like to help, please see the documents below for more information.
- About weighted/sensory blankets (from the Missouri Quilt Company)
Stephanie has created printable handouts for Linus volunteers wishing to help with this special project:
- Weighted Blankets - Pellet Pocket Instructions
- Weighted Blankets - Pieced Tops (most needed sizes)
- Weighted Blankets Instructions - for those wanting more information, different sizes, etc.
Please turn your Pellet Pockets and finished tops for Weighted Blankets at the monthly meeting. Please note: If you are helping with Weighted Blankets, pockets, tops, etc. are now dropped off in a blue bin in the kitchen. Be sure to sign tops in on the Sign In Sheet as Quilt Tops.
Have questions? Contact Stephanie!
