The Linus Connection: October 2016 - 17th Birthday Celebration and 12th Annual Challenge!

On October 15, 2015, The Linus Connection celebrated our 17th Birthday and our 12th Annual Challenge!

Our Birthday meeting included very special guests, our annual Blanket Challenge, lots of wonderful treats brought by our volunteers, a fun silent auction, lots of great door prizes, a fun guessing game, and much more!

We'd like to give a VERY SPECIAL THANKS to Timeless Treasures for being so supportive of our group. A big, big thank you to everyone that donated door prizes and items for our Silent Auction. We quite literally could not have done this without you!

We were honored to have many special guests join us during our Birthday Celebration!

Gloria from Wilco CAC, Amana with Tx Neuro Rehab, and Laura with YWCA (and some of the Y kiddos!) joined us on our special day. Thank you all for being our honored guests.

There were oodles. And oodles. and OODLES of awesome door prizes. Thank you, thank you, thank you to all the donors!

Volunteers and visitors alike had a chance to win an LED task light by guessing how many balls of thread and to learn more about The Linus Connection or make a small donation. Our donation box raised $53. Thanks to everyone who guessed and all who donated!

The 2016 Silent Auction raised $723, almost doubling last year's donations! Thank you to everyone that donated items and BIG thanks to our bidders for supporting The Linus Connection.

The Linus Connection is a Federal 501(c)(3) organization. All donations are tax deductible.

Osie has tirelessly led our Challenge since the very first year. Here is a special note from her:

So many thanks to all our volunteers -- the blanket makers as well as everyone that came early to help set up and hang blankets to make our birthday celebration a wonderful success!! These blankets are going to bring much needed comfort to so many children. Special round of applause goes to our Linus Connection board members, each of you make all this possible with all your hard work and talents. I LOVE being part of this organization.
