Bring your sewing machine and supplies, crochet or knitting! We will have quilt kits, cutting stations and plenty of room to work! Keith will be on hand to help with crochet. We'll be there all day, so consider bringing your lunch. Snacks are also appreciated. Drinks are available for cash purchase at the Stitching Studio.

Blanket Count for Tax Purposes
The blanket donation totals for 2014 will be coming soon. Numbers should be available by our February meeting. We will let you know through our Yahoo Group Mailing List we have that information sooner. Please note that The Linus Connection can only provide the number of blankets you donated in 2014, we cannot value your blankets for tax purposes.

New Paper Tags
As of December,we have a new paper tag for our Linus blankets! The new tags are a single piece of card stock, instead of two, as we previously used. The new label includes all the same information as the old labels, but you will now write your name at the top instead of on a separate card. Please continue to use up any of the two piece tags you may still have. Please refer to our Blanket Specification for placement of Linus tags and labels.

Winter Warmth
The winter months increase the need for donated blankets greatly. Our volunteers work very hard every month, and we can't thank you enough! If we have even more hands, we might just be able to provide security and warmth to the children of Central Texas that really need it during this time of year. We ask that if you know a quilter, knitter, crocheter, sewing group or others that might be able to help lend a hand during the winter months and beyond, please reach out.
As always, we thank you from the bottom of our scrappy, pieced hearts for your support!

Pieced Quilt Backs
For those of you turning in quilt tops wider than 40" for quilting, please include a pieced back that is at least 4" wider and 4" longer than the top. It helps save our volunteer quilters a lot of time if they do not have to find or piece backs wide enough for the larger tops. Complete blanket specifications are here.

Weighted Blankets
We continue to have requests for weighted blankets. If you would like to help create quilt tops or muslin pockets for the pellets, please get in touch with Stephanie for sizes needed.

Our volunteers make hundreds of blankets each month to meet the need of children in crisis in Central Texas. To do this, many supplies are needed. We are constantly in need of washable 100% acrylic yarn. Leftovers to full skeins are gratefully accepted.
Have yarn? Bring it to the next Linus meeting or leave it at one of our Drop-Off locations clearly marked for The Linus Connection.
Not from the Austin area? Email Jennifer for the best address to send yarn donations!
