On Saturday, August 17, 2013, we welcomed Janie and Mary Beth from the Christ Child Society. We learned all about the history of the society as well as what this group of ladies does for children in need in Austin area. The Linus Connection contributes blankets to the Christ Child Society each month to help fill the need of children in our area.

Linus Work Day
Join us at The Stitching Studio the second Saturday in September for a Linus Work Day! Bring your sewing machine and we will have kits for you to sew. Want to learn to crochet? Comment below and we'll have a crochet expert on hand to help!

Annual Challenge

Join us for the 9th Annual Linus Connection Challenge! All volunteers are invited to participate. Challenge packs will be available for sign out after Show & Tell at the June - September meetings.  All Challenge blankets are due 9 am at the October 19, 2013 meeting but can be turned in earlier to Osie. Please do not turn your Challenge blanket in with the regular donations.

Challenge blankets will be on display at the Annual Birthday Celebration in October. Challenge blankets should follow the usual blanket making guidelines, available here.

Crochet Hooks & Knitting Needles Needed

Keith is collecting crochet hooks, knitting needles, small scissors and yarn patterns for a gift basket to be given away during the October meeting. If you have some of these items you would like to donate, please bring these to her no later than the September meeting. Donations should be given directly to Keith.

Chisholm Trail Quilt Show

The 2013 Chisholm Trail Quilt Show, "Quilting: Art for Today", is scheduled for Friday, September 27 and Saturday, September 28, 2013 at the Dell Diamond, 3400 Palm Valley Blvd Round Rock, TX 78664. The Chisholm Trail Quilt Guild and it's members help support The Linus Connection, so be sure to go check out the wonderful quilts they will have on display!

Monthly Demo

Each month after Show & Tell, we present free, short demonstrations of blanket making techniques to our volunteers. If you have a fun pattern, some tips or other blanket-making ideas you'd like to share, please email Jennifer.

Show And Tell

Blankets were shown and donated on August 17, 2013. They are not necessarily being shown by the person that made them. Only a sampling of donated blankets is shown each month.

We encourage you to join us at our monthly meeting and participate in Show and Tell at 10 a.m.
