September Meeting and Show and Tell

October Challenge and Linus Birthday
The October 16, 2010 meeting will be Linus' 11th Birthday Celebration and Annual Challenge! You can get challenge kits at by stopping by our Challenge Sponsor, Honey Bee Quilt Store. All Challenge blankets will be due by the October 2010 meeting. Blankets can also be turned in at Honey Bee. Please click here for full details. There will be no Show & Tell or Demo in October.

Linus Library
We are collecting quilting, crochet and knitting books for The Linus Connection library. Starting in January, 2011, these books will be made available for check-out through the Linus website and at monthly meetings from our librarian, Valerie. If you have gently used books (no magazines, please) that you would like to donate, please bring them to the next meeting. Handouts for royalty-free patterns will continue be available.

Quilt Tops
We have a number of long-arm quilters than volunteer their time for Linus. When turning in quilt tops, please make sure they are at least 40" wide. If you are donating a top that is larger than 40" wide, please include a pieced backing. For the smaller quilts, this helps the long-arm quilters spend more time quilting and less time loading quilts into their machines as well as reducing fabric waste. For the larger quilts, you save the quilters having to stop and piece a backing especially for your quilt.

Name Tags

If you missed Saturday's meeting and you need a Linus Connection volunteer name tag, please email Jennifer. Your name will be added to the list. New name tags will be available at the next meeting on the sign in table. Name tags will not be laminated so you will be able to wear and/or update your name tag any way you choose. Here is a free, simple pattern from the Santa Clara Valley Quilt Association for a name badge pattern.

Show And Tell

Blankets were shown and donated on September 18, 2010. They are not necessarily being shown by the person that made them. We encourage you to join us at our monthly meeting and participate in Show and Tell at 10 a.m.   A free demo follows.
